SEASIDE — Seaside’s Jetta Ideue pitched all 14 innings of a doubleheader Friday at Broadway Field, in a 5-1, 13-6 sweep over Valley Catholic in Cowapa League softball action.
Ideue threw a total of 193 pitches on the day, as she gave up nine hits and struck out 11 batters with just two walks in the two seven-inning games.
The Gulls came out swinging in the opener, scoring four of their five runs in the first inning.
Whitney Westerholm and Ideue both had RBI doubles, and Brittany West also drove in a run. Westerholm was 2-for-2 with a pair of doubles, while Jetta Ideue had a double and Paige Ideue added a triple.
Seaside pounded out 17 hits in Game 2, and led 10-6 after three innings.
West was 3-for-4 and scored twice, and the Gulls had six doubles, two by Mica Paranal, who drove in three runs. Seaside improves to 7-5 overall, 2-1 in league.
