Gilbert Block

Buildings on what is known as “the Gilbert Block” in Seaside could provide housing options.

The Historic Gilbert District in downtown Seaside has announced it will promote local shopping specials and will offer free refreshments on Small Business Saturday with official endorsement from the nationally-recognized “Shop Small” campaign.

The event will take place on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, which is Nov. 30 this year.

At least 30 businesses are located in the district, which encompasses the four city blocks on the corners of Broadway and Holladay Drive, including Shine On Fair Trade Boutique, Dough Dough Bakery, Voyages Toys, Tora Sushi, Seaside Antique Mall, At Home on Broadway, Rust and Dust, Westport Winery, Tonquin Trading, Beach Books, Seaside Yard and Fiber, Pacific Heirloom and Collectables, SunRoseGallery and Fairweather House.

Established in 2004, the Historic Gilbert District has a mission to grow, enhance, and support a vibrant business climate through community involvement in the historic area of downtown Seaside.
