The Schweiger Memorial Scholarship Fund and Advanced American Construction, of Portland have selected 13 students to receive $45,000 in scholarships for the 2016-2017 school year.

The fund has awarded 207 scholarships, ranging from $5,000 to $2,000, and totaling $557,000. From a field of 27 applicants, the Selection Committee chose those that best demonstrated academic and extra-curricular excellence in the pursuit of careers in construction and construction-related fields.

Maxwell Beaudoin of Seaside, Oregon is a sophomore at Oregon State University pursuing a degree in civil engineering.

Scholarship Award: $3,000. He and other students will be honored at the 17th annual Schweiger Memorial Scholarship Awards Dinner and Silent Auction to be held Friday, April 22, at the Sentinel Hotel in Portland.
