Providence Seaside Foundation Festival of Trees rings in the holiday season with a free public open house at the Seaside Convention Center Saturday, Dec. 5, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Visit Santa, enjoy kids crafts and decorated trees on display. This year the festival celebrates 18 years of holiday magic and will continue its long tradition of raising funds for community and hospital programs.

Providence Seaside Hospital Foundation has raised more than $1.4 million since the first festival in 1997. In 2014, the festival alone raised $143,000 to support the first Providence ElderPlace program on the north coast. Funds were also used to partner with Medical Teams International to provide free mobile dental services to uninsured adults and some of the north coast’s most vulnerable residents—children.

Proceeds from this year’s gala event will support new surgical equipment, including enhanced video camera internal scopes and digital printers This new equipment will provide accessibility to more complex surgeries here on the north coast that are not currently being performed.

Gala dinner auction takes place at 5:30 p.m. with a champagne reception and silent auction. Dinner and live auction begin at 6:30 p.m. Music will be performed by Acústica World Music, and the event signature artist is William Steidel. Tickets are $100; for reservations or more information, call 503-717-7601.
