Oswald West Action Day is slated for Saturday, Oct. 5, at Oswald West State Park from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Surfrider Foundation Portland Chapter will be hosting a beach cleanup, along with some restorative projects. They will be partnering with the Cape Falcon Marine Reserve, Oregon State Parks, and Trailkeepers of Oregon.
Surfrider hosts Oswald West Action Days twice a year, one in honor of Earth Day in April, and one in the fall.
Surfrider and volunteers will meet at the Oswald West State Park parking lot. Arrive 15 minutes early for check in. Before working, there will be a debriefing on the importance of Marine Reserves.
The Action Day will be about two hours doing community service projects on the beach and throughout the park. Stay after the cleanup for a Surfrider sponsored barbecue and beverages. There will also be some raffle prizes. Bring work clothes, a reusable water bottle, and some friends. More information is available on Facebook at Oswald West Action Day.
