Northwest Youth Corps is accepting applications. Along with the opportunity to make new friends and spend time outdoors, teenagers from 15-18 years old can earn a stipend of $1,000, high school credit, and a job reference.

The opportunities are in Seaside with the daytime OutDoor Oregon Program. The program runs from July 27-Aug. 28. Tuition is $125. Crews meet at a designated site every morning, and work an average of 6.5 to 7 hours a day.

Participants will learn how to build trails, enhance natural habitats, remove invasive species, and develop other valuable outdoor skills in the local community. Through a focus on local projects, members will become more connected and invested with the area in which they live, and can take pride in the benefits they create for their neighborhood.

No experience is necessary, only a willingness to learn and work hard as a team. To register, go to
