Timothy Elliott Putman received a Ph.D. in molecular and cellular biology from Oregon State University in Corvallis. His thesis was on “A Culture-Independent Approach to Chlamydial Genomics.” He has accepted a post-doctoral position at the Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla, Calif.

Putman is a 1999 graduate of Seaside High School, and a 2009 graduate of the University of Oregon. He is the son of Steve and Marcia Putman of Gearhart.
