Dancers at Encore Dance Studio in Gearhart practice a routine during a recent dress rehearsal to prepare for an upcoming performance at Disneyland in December. The Disneyland program is open to all studio families who want to participate. To perform at the theme park, the studio submitted an audition video last spring, according to studio owner and instructor Denele Sweet. After they got the nod, dancers started rehearsing in the summer. This year, 25 dancers will perform on the Hollywood Backlot Stage next to the “Tower of Terror” ride. They will perform a half-hour Christmas show, featuring two full-cast productions and five other routines, Sweet said. In addition, the studio's after-school hip hop team of 30 dancers, ages 6 to 12, are performing a routine during a Portland Trail Blazer's game at the Moda Center Nov. 28.
