Donna Crispin wove her first basket from pine needles. She did so while stationed at the Grand Canyon, working for the Forest Service.

That was 30 years ago. And while her techniques have evolved, Crispin’s sourcing remains the same.

A teacher almost as long as she’s been a weaver, Crispin will share decades of experience in at a workshop Sunday, April 17 at Tolovana Hall, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. All skill levels will take home a basket or bird house of their own creation--even those who’ve never woven a single thread.

The workshop is Sunday, April 17 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Tolovana Hall, 3779 S. Hemlock, Cannon Beach. Tickets are $65 (materials provided, though attendees should bring a snack). For more information visit tolovanaartscolony.org or email tolovanaartscolony@gmail.com, or call 541-215-4445.
