Taking ‘Title’ to new digs

Brian Owen, executive director of Seaside Chamber of Commerce, with Tara Waterman, North Coast manager for Ticor Title, at a ribbon-cutting for Ticor's new offices.

Ticor Title staff welcomed members of the Seaside Chamber of Commerce to the opening of their new offices on 2263 N. Roosevelt Drive in Seaside Wednesday, May 2.

Hosted by Tara Waterman, North Oregon Coast manager, the title company unveiled the largest of the company’s six regional locations with a ribbon-cutting, coffee and a visit with members of the community.

Ticor is part of the Fidelity National Financial family of companies, the nation’s largest group of title companies and title underwriters, Waterman said.

Ticor has two components: title insurance for the buyer to give people the peace of mind to know their investment is protected and escrow is the an agreement with a neutral third-party following the written instruction of the buyer and seller, Waterman said. The escrow officer prepares and holds legal document and receives and disburses those funds according to those documents.

Ticor came to Seaside in the 1980s, and moved into their new building this month.

The space includes offices, training rooms and conferences rooms.

Sales executive Ellie Ludy, a Gearhart resident, said she expected a strong summer in the real estate market.

“Cannon Beach is hot right now, with beautiful high-end properties,” Ludy said. “Anything that comes on the market in Gearhart is usually sold very quickly. Seaside is another great market. In Astoria, it’s very hard to find houses on the market. Astoria really needs listings.”
