Seaside Head Start is accepting applications for the 2014-15 school year.
Head Start supports the mental, social and emotional development of children who were 3 or 4 years old on Sept. 1, 2014.
In addition to education services, Head Start provides children and their families with health, nutrition, social and other services. The services are responsive to each child and family’s ethnic, cultural and linguistic heritage.
Head Start is a comprehensive high-quality early-childhood development program offering integrated services in education and early childhood development, child health and nutrition, parent education and family support. The free program is a family-focused early childhood development program that provides experiences in literacy, science, math, art, language, small and large motor skills and socialization. Meals, family support and kindergarten readiness activities also are offered.
Head Start encourages the role of parents as their child’s first and most important teachers.
