Firefighters on U.S. Highway 101 south of Avenue U in Seaside after a trailer fire Wednesday.

Seaside firefighters responded to a trailer fire on U.S. Highway 101 south of Avenue U on Wednesday afternoon. The blaze, caused by friction from the trailer tires igniting the interior, led to about $5,000 damage, Seaside Div. Chief Chris Dugan said at the scene.

After about a 20-minute roadblock, the highway was reopened, Dugan said.

No one was hurt in the incident.
