10:38 a.m., Cove: A key found in the Cove is turned into police.

12:13 p.m., Avenue S: Caller reports someone getting into an RV illegally parked by the recycling center. Subject tells police he saw the RV and thought he’d help itself to its contents. Police advise this is not an option.

7:18 p.m., 1700 block S. Franklin: Subjects reported setting up camp tell police they’ve been displaced by wildfires. They won’t be staying long because they have a motel reservation for the following night.

2:21 p.m., 1300 block Broadway: Teens reported throwing an orange cone into the river are located by police who direct them to retrieve the cone and return it to the American Legion.

3:48 p.m., Sunset Boulevard: Men’s shorts with a wallet in the pocket are found and turned into police for safekeeping

Sept. 14

2:20 a.m., Pocket Park: Subjects are warned of unlawful lodging.

1:03 p.m., 1000 block N. Holladay: A deceased person is reported.

4:24 p.m., 600 block Broadway: Person reported screaming at the top of his lungs is advised to quiet down.

10:11 p.m., Motel 6: A person is charged with driving with a suspended license.

9:54 a.m., 400 block S. Roosevelt: Transients reported drinking alcohol on property.

11:06 a.m., Pocket Park: Police contact transients reported drinking beer in public; on arrival, they say the beer is all gone.

11:48 a.m., Police headquarters: A person phones in their annual sex offender registration instead of appearing in person due to COVID-19 conditions.

10:35 p.m., Turnaround: Property crimes are reported.

Sept. 16

7:43 a.m., 1900 block Spruce Drive: Neighbor reports suspicious car parked in the area; police contact the driver who says they are just waiting for a friend to come out of their apartment.

3:07 p.m., Broadway and Roosevelt intersection: City manager requests police assistance with subjects holding signs and disrupting traffic; they are advised of the complaint and asked to move along.

8:07 a.m., Multiple property crimes are reported on the 700 and 800 blocks of Seventh Avenue and Eighth Avenue and the 800 block of N. Lincoln.

2:09 p.m., 1700 block N. Prom: Homeowner reports someone setting up a camp in the dunes.

2:45 p.m., Wahanna: Caller reports a disheveled, raging man jumping into traffic. Police locate him and cite him for disorderly conduct.

6:20 p.m., Ocean shore: Caller reports suspicious bones and is advised it is a decaying seal.

10:34 p.m., Columbia and Ocean Way: A person is arrested on a warrant.

Two people injured in car accident

Two people from Gearhart were involved in a car accident Sept. 17 at 3:48 p.m. near milepost 22 on U.S. Highway 26 at the junction of Highway 103. A 61-year-old Gearhart man was waiting for another car to turn when he was struck from behind by a 23-year-old driver from Prineville. She said she was traveling west at around 55 mph when she realized traffic had stopped. She rear-ended the car in front of her resulting in heavy front-end damage to her car. The Gearhart man and his passenger, his wife, 59, were transported to Providence Seaside Hospital. Her car was removed by Gary’s Tow. The Elsie Fire Department and ODOT were on scene to provide traffic control.
