8:04 a.m., 1200 block Avenue A: A person is arrested on a warrant.

12:39 p.m., U.S. Highway 101 by Les Schwab: A person is pulled over after conducting a dangerous left turn.

6:04 p.m., Avenue H and Roosevelt: A person is pulled over for failure to stay in lane.

6:27 p.m., Avenues K-L, Ocean Shore: Numerous transient campers are advised to pack up and leave the area.

6:53 p.m., 1100 block N. Franklin: Participants in an on-going disturbance agree to separate for the night. Police return at 7:21 p.m., where the disturbance continues; parties are given options.

9:33 p.m., 900 block 14th Avenue: A person is arrested and charged with DUII.

11:52 p.m., U.S. Highway 101 and Mill Creek Lane: A person is pulled over for failure to drive in lane.

Sept. 5

12:15 a.m., 1600 block Broadway: Officer requested to make a welfare check; on arrival, police call for emergency medical assistance. Subject transported to hospital.

12:47 a.m., 800 block S. Holladay: Person reports neighbor throwing fish guts and fish refuse off their balcony. They are advised to contact the property management.

1:53 a.m., Avenue U: Tents on beach.

6:15 a.m., Prom and Ocean Way: Police speak with a person sleeping in their car; they say they are intoxicated and shouldn’t drive. No further action taken.

7:23 a.m., -7:45 a.m., Beach: Police advise six different subjects of ordinances prohibiting tents on the beach.

1:13 p.m., 2700 block S. Roosevelt: A two-car motor vehicle accident is reported. Another agency is assisted.

2:35 p.m., Broadway Park Bridge: Caller reports kids jumping off the bridge. A responsible parent is contacted who says the kids are jumping off the dock, not the bridge.

7:23 p.m., Avenue A and South Columbia: A juvenile reported missing is reunited with their parent.

Sept. 6

12:07 a.m., U.S. Highway 101 by Motel 6: A person is pulled over on a traffic violation and discovered to be driving while having their privilege suspended.

1:51 a.m., 800 block S. Roosevelt: Police respond to a report of a person who refuses to leave a local establishment. Person agrees to leave and is informed they are trespassed.

6:22 p.m., 300 block Avenue A: Police respond to a person complaining they are excluded from a fraternal club. They agree to leave it alone and just leave.

8:08 p.m., Seaside Post Office: A disturbance is reported.

8:15 a.m., 400 block N. Prom: An assault is reported.

6:48 p.m., Dunes and Avenue K: A transient camp growing in size over the past 10 days is warned to clean up their mess and move on.

Sept. 10

9:40 a.m., N. Roosevelt: Caller reports man in the women’s bathroom. Officer responding finds a woman in the woman’s restroom.

Sept. 11

1:48 a.m., 1700 block 12th Avenue: A person is arrested on a warrant.

1:56 a.m., Beach: Persons located with a bonfire during the burn ban deny having started the fire. The fire was extinguished and the subjects left the area.

2:47 p.m., Broadway and Roosevelt: Subjects reported creating a disturbance tell police they are upset about 9/11 but said they would keep it down.

11:06 p.m., 300 block S. Roosevelt: Subjects sitting in car for some time with the lights on is reported as suspicious. Police make contact with the occupants who say they’ve been displaced by the wildfires and are just taking a break.

2:24 p.m., 1800 block Lewis & Clark Road: Emergency medical response; assist another agency.

11:54 p.m. 800 block S. Holladay: Emergency medical response.

Yelling match

A 27-year-old Seaside man got into a yelling match Sept. 4 on U.S. Highway 101 by Colcourt Lane; he was reported yelling at the driver and passenger of another car traveling northbound at milepost 16. He pulled over and got out of his car. The arguing parties agreed to leave each other alone and no further action was taken.

Abandoned car

Classic Towing operator called in an abandoned car on the Astoria-Megler Bridge Sept. 5. He arranged to have another driver come and get it and an Astoria police officer arrived to assist. The vehicle identificatio number showed the vehicle reported stolen on Sept. 1. Another tow truck arrived and moved the car off the bridge. There was no visible damage and the keys were in the ignition. The plates were missing. The car is known to belong to a Seaside man.

Denied purchase

A 55-year-old Seaside woman tried, was delayed, and ultimately was denied the right to purchase a firearm Sept. 10 at 9:11 a.m. at the Hamlet Quick Stop Sept. 10 on U.S. Highway 26. Police are investigating.


A 47-year-old Seaside man was involved in a rear-end collision at the intersection of U.S. Highway 104 and U.S. Highway 101 Sept. 10 at 12:35 p.m. The other driver was a 72-year-old woman from Warrenton. No injuries were reported.

Car break-in

An Arkansas woman visiting Cannon Beach said her rental car was broken into Sept. 10 at 12:48 p.m., at Arcadia Beach. Things were stolen. Seaside police assisted in obtaining video feeds for attempted purchases made by the thieves using the victim’s credit cards.

Off roadway

A woman driving a U-Haul truck traveling south on U.S. Highway 101 near milepost 23 Sept. 10 at 6:42 p.m., left the roadway and got on the southbound shoulder; the truck struck the guardrail and traveled about 50 feet before coming to a stop. Seaside police located a male passenger walking north towards Seaside; the driver returned to the scene shortly after a trooper arrived.
