3:22 a.m., North Wahanna: Police respond to suspicious activity reported at an assisted living center; on arrival locate a resident locked out of the building. Property manager on scene to let the resident back in.

6:51 a.m., Safeway: Police are contacted about a person who left a large mess in the parking area. Subject is advised to clean it up. Officer will be checking back later.

12:09 a.m., Ocean Way: Caller reports man sleeping in front of his car. Person is awakened and told they can’t sleep on the sidewalk.

12:38 a.m., 12th and Franklin: A woman reported screaming for her lost hard of hearing friend is advised to find a better method of searching.

Oct. 1

5:36 a.m., 1000 block S. Holladay: A person is arrested on a warrant.

8:33 a.m., Quatat Park: A person reported sleeping in the park is advised he can’t sleep there.

1:10 p.m., Avenue A bus shelter: Driver tells riders they can’t take the contents of their house on the bus. This upset the riders. A van came to pick up their stuff.

9:45 p.m., 400 block 12th Avenue: Police do a welfare check on a woman reported screaming on the phone she wanted to self harm. She said she was having an anxiety attack and a friend was coming over. She declined medical attention.

6:53 p.m., 900 block Avenue S: Property crimes are reported.

Oct. 3

1:32 a.m., 500 block Broadway: Someone not wanted on premises is told to leave.

4:50 a.m., Library: Police interview subjects on the library property.

12:51 a.m., 400 block Silver Point Court: Police assist another agency with a disturbance.

8:11 p.m., 1200 block S. Holladay: Caller reports strong odor of marijuana coming from a car getting gas. The car is gone prior to police arrival.

Oct. 4

8:39 a.m., District 3: A person is arrested on a warrant at the scene of a fire investigation.

9:46 p.m., Fifteenth and Roosevelt: A person is arrested and charged with DUII.

10:24 p.m., Avenue K and Roosevelt: Motor vehicle accident.

Oct. 5

4:30 a.m., 800 block S. Roosevelt: Caller says he was just in a fight with his girlfriend who threw him out of the car. He was gone before police arrived. Officer located car and conducted a traffic stop; both parties said the fight was about infidelity, no one was injured, and they would try to get along and work it out.

12:45 p.m., Downtown: Caller said she lost her cousin; called back later to say cousin was found.

3:10 p.m., 800 block S. Roosevelt: Assault reported.

Oct. 6

9:57 a.m., 300 block S. Roosevelt: A bus driver requested assistance removing an unruly rider. The woman agreed to get off after police arrived on scene.

10:40 a.m., Avenue I and beach: Two people sleeping on the beach trail leave a mess behind. Police spoke with them and advised them of the complaint.

6:27 p.m., 1100 block Seventh Avenue: Drug paraphernalia found in the area is disposed of.


12:35 a.m., 1900 block Spruce Drive: Police receive two calls within five minutes reporting a disturbance.

6:20 p.m., 2400 block Millcreek Lane: Caller reports neighborhood kids are throwing rocks at her windows. Police looked for the kids but found no one. The caller then declined to speak to the officer.

10:14 p.m., 600 block N. Holladay: Police make contact with a woman reported stumbling in the road; she said she is waiting on a friend and will stay on the sidewalk.

11:18 a.m., Estuary: A caller complains about horses crossing from Gearhart to the Seaside beach.

3:00 p.m., 2000 block S. Downing: A deceased person is reported.

9:34 p.m., N. Wahanna: A runaway is reported.

Armed threat

A domestic disturbance was reported Oct. 2 at 1:23 p.m. at a rural address on Cow Creek Road in Seaside when a 32-year-old man with guns made violent threats. His wife and two young children were evacuated from the home and the man surrendered and came out voluntarily.

Rear-end crash

A crash occurred Oct. 8 at 3:12 p.m. on U.S. Highway 101 and Delmoor Loop when a 20-year-old woman driving a Jeep Cherokee was stopped on U.S. Highway 101 southbound, waiting to turn left onto Dellmoor Loop and a 40 year-old-man in a Chevy Tahoe came from behind, rear-ending her, causing the Cherokee to spin, catch on fire, and come to rest in the northbound lane. The driver got out of the car to avoid the fire. A 38-year-old woman driving a Toyota Sienna traveling northbound swerved to avoid the Cherokee coming into her lane, but they still collided. The drivers of the Tahoe and the Cherokee were taken to Seaside Providence Hospital by Medix. Classic Towing towed the Cherokee and Tahoe. Gary’s Towing towed the Sienna. Gearhart and Seaside fire departments put out the fire and ODOT cleared the highway of debris. The Gearhart police assisted on scene.

Lost control on curve

A Washington woman driving a Mustang southbound on U.S. Highway 101 at milepost 32 Oct. 10 at 8:45 a.m., was going too fast and lost control at the curve, sending her car down a steep embankment. She complained of shoulder pain and was taken to Seaside Providence Hospital. Gary’s Tow removed her car.
