Seaside City Council members Tom Horning, Randy Frank and David Posalski take the oath of office.

Seaside City Manager Mark Winstanley administered the oath of office to new City Councilor David Posalski for his first term as well as returning city councilors Randy Frank and Tom Horning.

Mayor Jay Barber congratulated Posalski.

“David, welcome, we’re glad that you’re here. We’re glad to have you join our team.”

Posalski thanked the mayor and councilors for help during the transition.

“The outreach from the other councilors as well as from the city staff to get me acclimated and ready for this city meeting has been fantastic,” he said. “I look forward to working with all of you.”

City Councilor Steve Wright was appointed president for the City Council.

The council president presides over the meeting when the mayor is unable to attend.

Every two weeks, the mayor, council president, city manager and clerk work to set the agenda for the next meeting.

The next City Council meeting takes place Jan. 25. A council goal-setting session will take place Jan. 29 and Jan. 30.
