Responders assist a pedestrian after a hit-and-run on North Holladay Drive.

An SUV ran a stop sign, struck a vehicle, and then hit a pedestrian, according to eyewitnesses at the intersection of 12th Avenue and North Holladay Drive in Seaside shortly after 8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7.

At the scene, Fire Chief Joey Daniels said the pedestrian was taken to Columbia Memorial Hospital’s trauma center in Astoria for treatment. His name and condition were not released.

The driver of an SUV “blew right through the stop sign” eyewitness Nick Snook said, after hitting another vehicle. “I saw a purple car stopped at the stop sign. The SUV clipped him, and didn’t stop.”

Snook said he didn’t know someone had been hit until he saw the pedestrian on the sidewalk. “I saw his glasses and they were all shattered.”

According to Snook, the driver of the SUV “blew right through the stop sign and hit the pedestrian.”

Seaside Police Sgt. Josh Gregory said at the scene a suspect had been apprehended at 15th Avenue and North Holladay Drive.
