Among graduating officers of the 378th Basic Police Class is Justin Gagnon of Seaside. The 16-week class includes dozens of training areas including survival skills, firearms, emergency vehicle operations, ethics, cultural diversity, problem solving, community policing, elder abuse, drug recognition and dozens of other subjects.

Gagnon was sworn in as a Seaside police officer by Chief Dave Ham in January.

Graduation takes place at the Oregon Public Safety Academy in Salem, on Friday, June 8, at 11 a.m. with a reception immediately following the graduation.
