A class for those who are considering starting their own business will be held Nov. 19 in Seaside.

“Ready, Set, Start Your Business,” will be from 8: 30 to 10:30 a.m. in the Seaside campus of Clatsop Community College, 1455 N. Roosevelt Drive.

Tom Leiner, a business counselor for Clatsop Economic Development Resources and the colleges Small Business Development Center, will teach the class.

Leiner is also the co-owner of Pat’s Pantry Spice Shop in Astoria and has a background in human resources, serving as a coach, counselor and mentor.

The topics covered during the class include:

• Identifying the reasons for starting a business

• Evaluating business opportunities

• The “basics” of starting a business

• Finding resources

•Writing a business plan or venture feasibility study.
