Boys help find missing girl in Seaside

SEASIDE — Three boys assisted in finding a missing child on the beach in Seaside Thursday.

At about 1:30 p.m., a call went out that a 5-year-old girl who was visiting from out of town with her family was lost. She was last spotted around the Turnaround.

Seaside Police officers and Seaside Fire & Rescue responded to the scene.

According to an eye witness, three boys helped find the girl. The boys’ names are Danny Gonzales, 13; Bryce Smith, 9; and Lua Gonzales, 8.

After they found her, they went from Avenue A to Seventh Street looking for her family. According to the boys, when the mother saw her daughter she ran up crying and picked her up and squeezed her tight. A bystander rewarded the boys with ice cream cones.

The girl was reunited with her family after about a half hour, according to the Seaside Police.
